Romance
On Thursday night, my husband and I enjoyed a candlelight Italian dinner.
Reality
On Thursday night, my husband and I suffered through cold, leftover pizza as the power was out due to tropical storm Fay.
Romance
My husband and I went upstairs so that we could snuggle in the 1.5 chair by the bedroom window and watch the storm and wind by candlelight.
Reality
My husband and I went upstairs so that we could snuggle in the 1.5 chair by the bedroom window and watch the storm and wind by candlelight. My husband was balancing two candles on top of a book and I was following him. One candle slipped from his hand and the hot wax fell on my legs and I hopped around on my feet and hit my ankle on the corner of the wall. The wax fell on the carpet, and the carpet is runied. I sat on the 1.5 chair treating my leg with Aloe Vera and hubby tried to clean the area with carpet cleaner.
Romance may be good for the day, but reality makes lasting memories to laugh about.

This is so true! We spend way more time bonding about mishaps than about romantic moments. Both are good, but, well, one is certainly more funny (in retrospect). :)
You can get candle wax out of carpet. Scrape off whatever you can, then lay paper towels over it and use the iron to apply heat. Start on a low setting and turn it up as needed to melt the wax without melting the carpet. It takes a lot of paper towels and some time to get all the residue, but it works. I can't vouch for colored candles, though, because mine was the color of the carpet.
Of course, you'd need the power back on in order to use the iron... :)
lol!! How are y'all surviving Hurricane Fay? Hope it didn't do too much damage where all y'all are living at!!
Ouch! I hope your leg is better today! And I hope y'all survived the storm without any damage.
