I heard something today that made me concerned and upset. I have not heard anything about it and I was wondering if you did. I am at work and so cannot do an extensive search.
I heard today that some people want the law changed to give parents the right to kill their babies 1 to 3 months old if they are born with deficiencies.
IF this is true, I have only one thing to say, Lord please do not tarry.

Annie, I remember I read something about it, if I'm not mistaken, on American Life League blog (www.all.org). It's horrendous, isn't it? But I can't help but think it's just the next logical step in our anti-life, anti-child culture. If late-term abortions - with babies delivered who are often viable - are legal, why not this, too?
I'm going off the computer now, to recite some psalms. This is what my soul needs right now.
"As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death..."
Off topic question here. :)
I saw your comment on Paths of Peace about wearing a veil during your church meetings and the women being silent. It made me curious because it sounds a lot like the church we fellowship in. So, do you mind my asking what kind of church you go to?
Side note: I don't really like phrasing it as "what kind of church," as denominations and divisions are manmade. Going to a "nondenominational church" myself, it is hard to answer my own question! Someday in heaven we'll all just be the bride of Christ together. However, I couldn't think of a more correct way to ask such a question. :)
Off topic answer: yes, "brethren assembly" would be the denominational type name for our church, though I don't like putting myself into a box. :) That's cool -- small world!
I wonder if we know any of the same people? I used to hang out quite a bit with the Indian young people at a nearby assembly in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area.
I am somewhat familiar with the Orlando-area assemblies. I haven't ever been there myself, but the missionaries that I worked with in Ireland for a couple years have an annual board meeting in October in Orlando. Perhaps you heard one of them or the board members speak last year: Jim Gillett, Brian Johnson, or Hal Harper?
I am sitting here with my jaw on the floor after reading this....
