I was talking to my mom today about our trip to the Grand Canyon and what we did there etc. Coincidentally at the same time, they had also taken a trip to one of the hill stations in India.
Mom: What did you do in Grand Canyon?
Me: We went on a helicopter to the bottom of the canyon and then took the boat ride on the Colorado River
(There is silence at the other end)
Me: Hello? Hello??
Mom: That is a risky thing to do. I have heard of many crashes. What with the height and everything
Me: Well, there is a certain amount of risk to everything. So, what did you do?
Mom: Oh, we just went on the ropeway
Thanks Mamma. Good to know that the "Do as I say and not as I do" is still going strong.

Couple of those work stories-
I apparently gave some misinformation to my boss (inconsequential) and that was caught by our client. (He is Indian)
Boss: You said ABC was not available
Me: That was what I thought, but this client is one smart guy
Boss: It takes one Indian to catch another one.
Me: I guess so
Boss: And that is why there are a billion of you.

Couple of months back I had just finished a very difficult project and there was a lot of back and forth emailing going on. At the end of the day I was sending out the finished report and I wrote the customary line at the bottom. "Please don't hesitate to call me if you have any questions." Half way through I decided to say instead "Please feel free to call me...." It ended up being "Please don't feel free to call me" I did not send it since I got a chance to review it, but some days- that sentence captures my feelings exactly.

I got an offer from the insurance agency the other day- actually on my birthday. It was for long term care. Okay, so I do have my share of medical problems, but I am not there yet. Hello? I turned 27 not 72!

Some fun real life anecdotes here. We love the Grand Canyon, although we're not the adventurers you are!
Blessings, e-Mom
lol. Those work stories are funny - especially the last one! ;)
Hehehehehe :) I especially loved the 'don't feel free to call me' :)
I left a comment on Anna S's site, too. I agreed with your comment. I really did not find much wrong with that article. Wonder if my comment will be posted on her site....
