I am getting into bed ready to sleep after my half hour reading time. Hubs was already asleep. Feeling some movement next to him, he announces: "I don't have a tail." I wish I had replied "I am real glad honey, cos you know it would be really weird otherwise. Now go back to sleep." but I could not stop laughing soon enough to say that.
PS: True story.
PPS: Hubby dear gave me permission to publish this.

Heh. :) Jonathan says all kinds of crazy things in his sleep, too.
It isn't unusual for him to wake me up with his mid-night mumbling. I'll ask "Are you asleep?" and he'll reply "Yes" or "I'm not sure." I always tell him to go back to sleep and he says "okay."
Thankfully I was prepared for this aspect of married life by a former roommate whose sleep-escapades included trying to climb out of our 4th-story window in her sleep. Some people need roommates. ;b
I have some hilarious conversations with Steven when he's asleep. He never remembers any of them!
He really freaked me out when we were first married. He sits straight up in bed every night. Every single night. Scared me awake the first few times, then I got used to it. Sometimes he sits up, then flops over with his face in his legs. I've had to check to make sure he's not suffocating himself a few times!
The best one was a few months ago. I was up reading in bed, and he'd reached the stage of sleep where he sits up. He flopped forward, then instinctively moved his head to be by the cat, who was at the foot of the bed. When I was ready to sleep, I tapped him and told him to put his head back on his pillow because I was afraid I might kick him in the head. He glared at me and growled, "DON'T kick me in the head!"
He didn't remember a bit of it in the morning.
I had to LOL at both your stories. Hubby once said "DONT touch me" (for no reason) in the middle of his REM sleep.
*Definitely* less subtle than "I have a headache."
hahahaha!!!! That is too funny!!! :)
