I used to find the word verification step in blog commenting pretty annoying. Well, I never knew that I had it on myself. Obviously when I was replying to any one of your comments, I didn't need to do that step as I was the administrator.
I figured it was only fair that I should take it off myself and so I did yesterday afternoon. And by evening there was a barrage of spam comments each one of which was as long as all my posts put together. So comment verification is back on. Sorry to those folks who find it as irritating as I do.

Now you know why there is word verification :) Anyways there are bots which hit blogs without word verification also called captchas. But recently there were broken by some bots too. So until they find video verification or something, we are still not safe :)
Those word verifications always give me a hard time, but I thought it was just me. :)
I haven't had any spam-bot spam yet, just a few comments that appeared to be written by a druggie currently on drugs. Those got deleted. Lucky me, I don't have a big enough blog to worry about what my comment moderation guidelines are beyond the spaced-out type. :)
What?! You don't like the yfzoslxg?
or maybe t7Gf5? or is it just QmVtzS?
No, I know what you mean. Gotta do what you've gotta do. It is a lot easier than dealing with spam. I'll keep dealing with your comment moderation if you'll put up with mine. :)
Word verification doesn't bother me. It's my own password that bothers me! For some reason, my fingers hate my password, and that's what I'm always flubbing when trying to comment somewhere!
Hate the thing but it has to be done.....sad to know there are idiots out there with nothing better to do than SPAM bloggers.
