It is lentil fritters or where I come from, it is called parippu vada. It is really delicious. I had made it once before, but it tastes so much better when I am not the one doing the work.
My MIL is staying with us for a while. My husband's slightest wish is her command, so I have been enjoying some of the fringe benefits as well :)

So, like a lentil version of falafel? I will add it to my list of recipes to try. All my bean & rice recipes of old call for cheese, and I have succumbed to the expensive habit of just buying meat instead. Need to expand my beans & lentils repertoire to include yummy cheese-free recipes.
So, why not drop some hints to the hub on some yummy foods that you, I mean, HE, is just really, really in the mood for? ;) The power of suggestion, you know.
haha. some of these are my favorites too. And I did enjoy my fill when my mom was here.
You should try it out. It is really very easy to make.
