ETA: This is a verbatim example I found in one of those myspace like thingies. I did not make it up. And although I know it is used for texting, that is no excuse for inflicting it on the general public by posting on public forums.

Is the fact that the above paragraph annoys me no end because of it's blatant mutilation of the beautiful English language a sign that I am getting old?
This is one of my pet peeves. Do you have one and if so, what is that?

To tell you the truth, when I read something like this, it gets the corner of my left eye twitching. :) I can't stand it!!
I remember how in highschool my *hobby* was check essays for spelling mistakes, and correct them. :P
I'm a former English teacher, so that sort of spelling/writing makes me insane! Honestly, I won't even read that. I don't have the patience to read through that jumbled mess of supposed words.

Is that a real sample, or did you make it up for demonstration purposes? Either way, it's frightening.
