Day 1of 7

It is a good thing I wrote out my plans. I think it helped me.

3 bottles of water (1.5 litres) CHECK
2 sets of squats CHECK
2 sets of stomach CHECK

Hallelujiah and Amen

I realized some things. One is that I have certain self imposed rules which makes me give up way too easily. One was that I HAVE TO HAVE one bottle of water before 9 am. It never worked out and when the 9 am mark came, I would think Oh well, didn't work out today, maybe will start tomorrow. It was 10 am today when I took my first sip of water. But I decided to run with it anyway. Ideally, I would have finished my 3 bottles by 6 pm as I didn't want to visit the bathroom 4 times in the night (flashback of pregnancy suddenly), but that didn't happen. Oh well. I know 2 sets of stomach and squats is nowhere enough to get the erring tummy back in shape. But it is a beginning.

I ate less rice also, but it was so difficult. I know Americans make fun of beans and rice and think of that as the ultimate in poverty and frugal living. I LOVE rice and beans. That is my staple diet. And not because of poverty or frugality. I have withdrawal if I don't eat beans at least once a week. If it is possible, my husband is even more addicted to beans. And as for rice, I would qualify for admission to a detox center. It is absolutely vital for me to have rice once a day. It has been proved during vacations that absence of rice for Annie has caused crankiness, irritability, hair loss and a overall bad time for anyone with her. If you don't believe me, ask my hubby. Not so much on the hair loss though. That was just the pregnancy. So back to the rice thing. It is difficult. I ate less for lunch and looked longingly at the rice, but I controlled myself.

In other news, baby and I went for storytime at the library and he didn't take much of a nap today. I gave him 438 kisses today and in return he scratched me, bit me, and pulled my hair and spat up all over me.

He has got TWO teeth now and my baby is growing up too fast.

(Don't look if spit up bothers you. But it is the reality of our life here with Neil.)

We have a friend from Nepal who was married for a while to an American girl. She would cook dinner, and then he would go make himself rice because no meal was complete without a dish of rice. ;)

keep it up.Its hard to stay away from rice. You can get there(almost no rice) as you lower the portion size.
